3. TERRORISM
The word terrorism was first used in France during the FRENCH REVOLUTION OF THE 18th CENTURY when the rulers were swept from power by a popular uprising. The French called this period THE REIGN OF TERROR.
However, Terrorism refers to the unlawful use of violence and intimidation especially against civilians in pursuit of political, cultic or religious aims.
In the RETURN OF TERRORISM in the 1970s the following countries or regions played a major role.
a) Basque country against SPAIN
b) Palestine against Israel
c) Ireland against United Kingdom
All the above are politically catalyzed types of terrorism. The other form of terrorism is religious and its mostly referred to as JIHADISM , mostly carried out by the indoctrinated , brainwashed, Islamic militants who employ horrible tactics to cause harm indiscriminately on innocent people . Some of the world’s greatest terrorists are:
a) OSAMA BIN LADEN OF AL QAEDA
b) ABUBAKR AL BAGHDADI OF ISIS
c) MUSA HILAL OF JANJA WEED
d) AYMAN MOHAMED ZAWAHIRI OF AL QAEDA
e) ABU NIDAL OF PALESTINE TORROR GROUP

THE DRUG TRADE.
Also called the DRUG TRAFFICKING CRIME is the cultivation, distribution of drugs that are subject to prohibition laws. The most prominent of these being cocaine, heroin, meth, opium, and cannabis.
Its assumed that the most profitable drug is cocaine, which is mostly produced in SOUTH AMERICA.
The countries with most of these production zones are:
a) MEXICO
b) PERU
c) COLOMBIA
d) BOLIVIA
The smuggling cartels use Guatemala, Mexico, WEST AFRICA these cartels include:
a) JUAREZ CARTEL
b) TIJUANA CARTEL
c) LOS ZETAS
d) BELTRAN LEYVA CARTEL
e) GULF CARTEL
f) SINALOA CARTEL
g) LA FAMILIA CARTEL
It’s good to note that the leader of THE SINALOA CARTEL, EL CHAPO WAS EXTRADITED AND CHARGED IN THE UNITED STATES.
The original cartels were:
a) THE MEDELLIN CARTEL
b) CALI CARTEL
THE MEDELLIN CARTE was led by the GREATEST DRUG LORD EVER, PABLO EMILIO ESCOBAR GAVIRIA however, after PABLO ESCOBAR was killed, the vacuum was filled by the NORTE DE VALLE CARTEL and the paramilitaries of Colombian AUC.
Crime has evolved since the 20th century to date and so has the methods of fighting crimes. Law enforcement agencies have had to come up with modern and more effective equipment to combat crime.
